Eligibility

All 2025AIPAS participants are eligible to participate in the solo competition. There is NO fee or separate application required—simply indicate your interest by selecting the relevant option on the AIPAS application form.

Repertoire

• 1st Round (August 7, 2025 – date subject to change)

Free program, including one piece which will be announced at the beginning 2025AIPAS (You may use the score for this piece).

• Junior (18 years old or younger as of August 1, 2025): 20 minutes

• Senior (19 years old and above as of August 1, 2025): 30 minutes

• Final Round (August 8, 2025  – date subject to change)

The final round repertoire will be chosen by the judges from each finalist’s competition repertoire list. No separate repertoire is required for the final round. Once you advance to the final round, you will be informed which pieces from your repertoire have been selected.

Prize

• Auer Young Artists

Five Auer Young Artists will each receive a $1,000 cash prize.

All 2025 AIPAS participants are eligible to apply for the concerto competition. 

To apply, you must submit a separate application form: 2025AIPAS Concerto Competition

The non-refundable $200 application fee includes two rehearsals with an AIPAS accompanist.

Choose one concerto from the following list:

W. A. Mozart:

• Concerto in D minor, K. 466 

• Concerto in C major, K. 467

• Concerto in A major, K. 488

• Concerto in C minor, K. 491

• Concerto in C major, K. 503

L. v. Beethoven:

• Concerto No. 1 in C major, Op. 15

• Concerto No. 2 in B-flat major, Op. 19

• Concerto No. 3 in C minor, Op. 37

F. Chopin:

• Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11

• Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21

Pre-Screening

Concerto contestants must submit an application and a video of their performance of the entire concerto with a piano accompanist or orchestra by June 6, 2025. 

Pre-Screening Results Announcement Date: June 15, 2025.

Final Round

Finalists will perform in the Final Round during 2025AIPAS, on a date between August 6 and August 9 (exact date to be confirmed). Two rehearsals with our accompanists will be scheduled before the Final Round. 

Prize

Two winners will be selected from the concerto competition. The winners will have the opportunity to perform with Auer Academy Summer Orchestra on August 10, 2025 (date subject to change).
